For laye’s brand launch video and first collection shoot, our team traveled down to Cape Town in search of the winter sun. In order to shoot our video and lookbook, we teamed up with Dutch videographer Bob Gertsen and South African photographer Fuaad Abdool. With its dramatic landscapes, golden coastlines, and rugged mountain backdrops, the city provided the perfect setting to bring our vision to life. The contrast between the urban edge of the city and the vast open nature surrounding it reflected the duality we aim for in our designs: a place where performance meets aesthetics.

Our journey unfolded over two days, capturing laye’s versatility in motion. On the first day, we started at the UCT University tennis courts, where the hardcourt surface, paired with Cape Town’s crisp winter air, let Emre bring out the technical performance of our collection. With fast-paced rallies and sharp footwork, we captured the essence of control and responsiveness that laye embodies. Tennis set the tone: precise, intentional, and built for movement.

Day two began at Africa Padel Camps Bay, where the ocean breeze and the early morning sun set the stage for high-energy play. The glass-walled courts created a cinematic atmosphere for fast-paced rallies and sharp reflexes. This is where our model/padel enthusiast Arshad showcased the adaptability of our gear, proving its ability to perform in any moment.
